LEXINGTON, N.C. (May 2, 2019) – For the fifth year in a row, Hospice of Davidson County has been recognized by HEALTHCAREfirst as a leader in providing hospice care with the Hospice Honors recognition.

HEALTHCAREfirst is a provider of Web-based home health and hospice software, outsourced billing and coding services, and advanced analytics.

The Hospice Honors program recognizes hospices providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view. Of over 4,000 hospice providers in the U.S., only 318 received honors or honors elite status.

“We are excited to recognize the 2019 Hospice Honors recipients for their hard work and dedication to providing exceptional care,” said Misty Skinner, executive vice president of services at HEALTHCAREfirst. “I congratulate Hospice of Davidson County on its success in achieving this highest of honors.”

Award criteria were based on Hospice CAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of October 2017 through September 2018. Award recipients were identified by evaluating performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures.

“Hospice of Davidson County is honored to be designated as a Hospice Honors program for the fifth consecutive year,” said Hospice of Davidson County CEO, Laura Owen. “This national recognition reflects the high-quality standards, level of expertise and supportive patient care provided by our staff.”
